Nursery offers a full range of children's activities for children aged 3 and 4 years in a welcoming and happy environment. There are 24 places available in our Nursery to children of three and four years at both morning and afternoon sessions, thus catering for forty eight children in the course of each day.

We offer:

Free nursery education for 3 and 4 year olds

· Open term time

· Qualified teacher and nursery support staff

· Part-time 3 hour session with the flexibility of extending sessions

· Large, safe enclosed outside play area

We support children’s learning and development, by closely matching activities and resources to children’s current needs.

Play is an integral part of the curriculum. It recognises that through supported play children can explore, develop and use their curiosity and imagination to help them make sense of the world in a secure environment.

They practice skills, build up ideas and concepts, think creatively and imaginatively and communicate with others as they investigate and solve problems.

Since we consider outside play an integral part of our curriculum our nursery has its own secure enclosed playground.

Learning Areas:

We have a large classroom. We organise the classroom to reflect different areas of the curriculum.

There are areas for:

·  Drawing and writing which we refer to as 'mark making' and a place for looking at books

.   Working on the computer and the interactive smart board.

·  Jigsaws and games including counting, matching and sorting.

·  Sand play and water play.

·  Creativity which offers painting, expressive arts and design.

·  Home corner role play where children can also use play dough.

We also have daily activities specifically planned and tailored to support topics.  Click here to look at the current topic overview.

There are always interactive displays which encourage speaking and listening and numeracy skills.

Outdoor Play Area

We have a large outdoor play area which we use every day. The outdoor area includes a lawn, and bike track and fixed balancing equipment.

There is a large canopy offering shelter from the elements which offers outdoor mark making, an area to look at books and small world play.

Everyday there is an assortment of resources including stilts, stepping stones and an enormous sandpit which children access independently.

We encourage the children to enjoy our outdoor play areas as much as possible, but we would be grateful if you could make the following provisions.

Warm / Sunny weather: Please ensure that your child is adequately protected - sun screen should be applied and a sun hat provided.

Cold weather: Please make sure your child has warm clothing e.g. hat, scarf, gloves, and suitable footwear.
